Black Friday by its very nature has come to represent the epitome of perpetual consumption and as such, has amplified polarising views amongst brands and their communities across the world. On a macro level, the impact to our planet from overproduction has become exponential, and in recent years a call for conscious consumption has taken centre stage.

However, on the other side of the coin is a realistic understanding of why events like Black Friday hold such significance. Amidst a global recession, in a time where cost of living is at an all-time high, it is important to not apply a blanket condemnation. Rather, an opportunity to educate each other on making considered purchases over impulse buys.

Our mission at Florence Black has always been a simple yet important one; to design high-quality garments that carry you through every season, for years to come. We believe that our community deserves this not only from their clothing, but from every purchase they make.

This year's Black Friday Drop reflects our commitment by reintroducing timeless classics in black hues – garments that will stand the test of time.

So for those who do take part in Black Friday this year our request is this. Before you buy an item, consider the following:

1. Is this something that I truly need or is it an impulse buy?

2. Is it something I will use many times?

3. Is it built to last?

4. Has it been made responsibly and to a high quality?

By taking a moment to understand the true cost and value of each purchase, we make more considered purchasing decisions, buy less, invest in longevity and contribute to the positive flow-on impacts conscious consumption has on those who make it, and our planet.

Our Black Friday Drop is set to release on the 24th of November at 7pm. With those within our Loyalty Program and who approach this Black Friday with a more deliberate mindset, awarded double points as an extra token of appreciation for their thoughtful choices.
